AVID

AVID, or Advancement Via Individual Determination, sets the foundation for success in both high school and later in your college, career, and life.  You begin with the AVID College and Career Readiness Framework as the foundation of the AVID Elective while building relational capacity in the classroom.  You will be introduced to a common language used to describe the outcomes you can expect to achieve.  You will learn to organize your time, materials, and thoughts, including both physical and digital organizational skills.  Through this course you will utilize writing as a tool of learning, the inquiry method, collaborative grouping, and academic reading.
