Bio Living Earth Assignment Calendar and Lessons (Period 1 and 6)

Course Description

Students generate and expand on the interconnections of the anthrosphere, biosphere, atmosphere, hydrosphere, cryosphere and geospheres. Students grow in the skills of design and modeling at multiple levels and in various modalities. Students develop skills, strategies and framework for research at the macro and intensive perspectives. This year's curriculum includes the following units: 1) An organism unit emphasizing bioindicator species, keystone species, and biome interactions. 2) An investigation for mass extinction events, species continuity before, during and after a mass extinction event; and comparative dinosaur species across geologic time scales. 3) A microscopy unit that teaches and develops the science, methods, development, presentation and function of microspic investigations.
