United States Senate Youth Program (USSYP) Application Due

The 45th Annual United States Senate Youth Program (USSYP) is coordinated by the California Department of Education (CDE) and is sponsored by the William Randolph Hearst Foundation. PLHS has been invited to nominate up to two students to be considered as candidates.

 

Selected delegates will participate in a week of intensive study of teh federal government as guests of teh U.S. Senate from March 3 - 10, 2007, in Washington, DC. The Foundation will pay all expenses for the delegates, including transportation, hotel, and meals. In addition, each of the delegates will receive a $5,000 college scholarship from the Foundation.

 

To be eligible, juniors or seniors must currently serve in an elected or selected capacity in student government, a civic, or an educational organization.

 

Students who would like to apply for consideration should pick up an application in the Counseling Office.
