2007-08 National Peace Essay Contest Essay Due Date

Scholarship awards are:

 

State Awards (53) for first place is $1,000 each

 

1 National Award, Third Place: $2,500

1 National Award, Second Place: $5,000

1 National Award, First Place: $10,000

 

In a 1,500 word essay, applicants should state what they believe are the necessary elements for the development of fair, peaceful, or effective use of natural resources after a conflict. Analyze two case studies that illustrate your arguments by selecting two foreign conflicts in which natural resources have played a part. Of the two foreign conflict situations, at least one must have begun in or after 1990.
