Thanksgiving Potluck on November 21

Greetings, parents, guardians, and stakeholders of PLHS JROTC and it's Cadets.

In case you were aware or informed, the unit will be holding it's annual Thanksgiving potluck this Thursday, November 21, to start about 11:00 am and to complete with all mouths fed and spaces cleaned up by 1:30 pm.

If you would like your Cadet to bring something to share, sign-up at the NJROTC Thanksgiving Potluck Lome site.  There are still a few spots left.

The plan is for Bravo Co (3rd period) to set up and begin eating, Periods 2, 5, and 6 to eat during the lunch period, and Period 4 to join in as soon as all the above has fixed themselves a plate.  The Period 4 companies will continue with their meal when class begins and commence with clean-up.

Contact us if there are any questions or concerns.

PLHS JROTC's Annual Food Drive

JROTC starts their annual food drive on November 1st and through the entire month to help the San Diego Food Bank feed families in need.  Donations of nonperishable food items can be made at the Admin office, the JROTC classroom in the big gym, or by contacting a current Cadet or the instructors.  Online donations can be made at sandiegofoodbank.org/holiday or through the PLHS JROTC website.

Your Cadets will also be volunteering time through their respective companies at designated supermarkets for donations.  There will always be at least two Cadets together for each shift.  Contact the instructors if there are any questions or concerns.

Color Guard Competition at Fallbrook Union High School

Three teams of our Color Guard (Varsity, JV, and Freshmen) are slated to compete this Saturday, October 12th, at FUHS' third annual competition.

The bus leaves at 6:00 am.  The teams are expected to show up at the JROTC classroom to gather all equipment, snacks, and refreshments to load for transportation and for any last minute adjustments.

The competition is open for all spectators.  All family and friends are welcomed to attend and show support for the best Color Guard in the west!

The address to FUHS is 2400 S Stage Coach Ln, Fallbrook, CA 92028.  Our Varsity (Alpha) team competes first at 8:30 am while Bravo and Charlie follows in 45-minute increments.  We should return to the unit on/about 3 pm.

Temperatures are expected to exceed 100 on that day as of this post, so dress accordingly.  Snacks and refreshments are usually available at this event, but it is a good idea to plan on bringing some with you.

Let us know if there are any questions or concerns.

Respectfully,
Senior Chief Lista

Greetings, Parents & Guardians of PLHS NJROTC Cadets!

You should be receiving a message from your Cadet requesting for email addresses for our unit fundraiser via Schoolfundr.org.  We are requesting for your assistance with this as they may not have the minimum 20 email addresses to kick-off our campaign.

They are also creating a profile in our campaign page which you can access to input these email addresses yourselves.  This may be a more desirable option for both of you.  Access their Schoolfundr.org account to be able to assist in this campaign.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns:

Message from the NJROTC Booster President

Dear NJROTC Parents,

We need your help!

The End of Year Ceremony is quickly approaching.  The ceremony will be held at 5:30 pm on Thursday, May 23rd in the PLHS gym.  The Cadets are very excited for this event.

This year, NJROTC has been able to enjoy some awesome activities hosting and competing in multiple Drone, Orienteering, Archery, Drill, and Academic competitions. They have had the opportunity to take field trips to the Miramar Air Show, tours of three different U.S. Navy ships, and marched in two major San Diego holiday parades. Just to name a few of this year's adventures. All of these events and your child's participation are made possible through the physical and financial support of our amazing NJROTC families.

We would like to have a great End of Year Ceremony to send this year's Senior Class off in style and are asking for your support to make this happen.  If you can, please consider donating to the Booster PayPal to help us finish the year strong.  Any size donation is greatly appreciated.  PLHS NJROTC PayPal Account

Please feel free to reach out to me with questions at [email protected].

USS MIDWAY Museum - JROTC Drill Exhibition

The long-awaited competition with 11 NJROTC units' armed and unarmed exhibition drill teams is here, Saturday, 16 Mar 2024.

Cadets and instructors need to report to the museum's entrance before 8:30 am.
  • You can’t bring lunch on the ship.  They only allow small snacks and water.  Food is available for purchase at the café on the ship.  Here's a link to their website: https://www.thecafeeats.com/ . Food range is between $10 - $17.
  • Keep your footprint small.  There is limited space on the flight deck, Cadets should only bring on what they need.
  • Families and friends can come on for free, they just need to let them know at the gate that they are there for the competition.
  • Make sure you have the Midway waivers for your competitors.  If you missed it in the initial email, it’s attached again here.
  • Parking is around $15 at the Midway parking lot and there is also paid parking in the area around the museum as well.
